Dear fellow Skallegues,
We enjoyed our September 27th meeting at The Fort Garry Hotel as we move back into fall and our monthly meetings. October brings the Skal World Congress in Croatia with Denis & Doris Smith & myself attending from the Club. I will be away for the Club's October Executive Committee and our October 25th MEMBER Dinner meetings. I will be taking a post tour and on my return travel will take a side trip from Toronto to Halifax to attend the Skal Canada Fall Meeting, so I will see you in November! On behalf of the Club, I extend a warm Welcome to our newest club member - Jackie Storry, VP Sales & Marketing for Lakeview Hotels & Resorts.

Our Chase the Ace draw at our October 25th meeting will have 2 members draw from 40 cards. POT is $325.00.

September Member/Partner Dinner Meeting

33 members & partners attend our September 27th dinner meeting at The Fort Garry Hotel. Maria Cefali, Director of Marketing of Marketing provided an update for The Fort Garry Hotel and everyone enjoyed the meal & service. We were joined by 3 fellow Skalleagues from the Toronto Club as well as a few other guests. Lilian Tankard provided an overview for the World Police Fire Games, which will be hosted by Winnipeg in 2023. Lilian and representatives from Tourism Winnipeg attended the 2022 games in Rotterdam this summer.

MEMBER RECOGNIZED!

Congratulations to Jordon Lanthier,
named the 2022 Marketing Star Award for a Choice Hotels Canada. Jordon received his award at the Choice Hotels recent conference in Niagara Falls.

Club Member Moving On!

Scott Jocelyn, President & CEO -Manitoba Hotel Association has announced his plan to move on from the association by the end of this year.

We wish Scott every success in his future endeavors.

Editors Note: Skal Canada is resurrecting a Club in the Okanagan. In 1985, I originally joined Skal in the Okanagan Club when we were residing in Kelowna -Lorne.
