The Chase the Ace Pot for ourApril 25th Luncheon meeting is$540.00from 38 cards.
Not sure if this was a saying from the 1960's or not BUT it certainly applied with respect to the Club's 60th Anniversary Event.
If you were not there, you lost!
The banquet room was decorated in theme with the place setting charges being a LP (record) with the menu. From the ice carving at the bar to the individual place settings the 1960's themed menu, it was a FANTASTIC EVENING. Some attendees even dressed for the occasion with Denis Smith as Sonny Bono and Vanessa Angell in her grandmothers dress.
Unfortunately, we lost a number of our out-of-province guests due to flight cancellations from Toronto Airport due to the extreme snow event. Juan Steta, President Skal International from Mexico, Susan Webb, President Skal Int. Toronto(our sponsoring club) & Georgia Raso, President Skal Int. London all had flights cancelled and the options presented would not allow for them to arrive in time for our event. Tammy MacIntosh our President was also affected by Malta Airlines cancelling her group booking to return on Thursday and the rebooked flights were too late for her to arrive.
The folks at RBC Convention Centre did a great job for our event!
