Note from Editor:

We are now in 2022, a year that we hoped would be much better than the last two, but it now seems to be uncertain. Our Government is totally overwhelmed with the latest COVID variant and has not moved along the path with any new ideas of how to deal with the pandemic. At the same time, we also need to move back to processing patients who require other procedures, which are backlogged and growing in expediential numbers.

Let's hope that we can move forward in a positive manner to rebuild our Tourism Industry.

Dear fellow Skallegues,
Well just when I thought it couldn't get any worse…it did. BUT…there is still sunshine in the morning, stars at night, air to breath, and joy I have survived the last 2 years.

As we dive head first into 2022 exhausted, and tired, things can only get better ❤️‍🩹 if we all do our part, by helping each other and encouraging change. It breaks my heart to see all the struggles and closures in our industry to stay afloat and keep their doors open.

“ Guess who is coming to dinner “? No one….And. “ Home Alone “ are not just movies but the reality for the past 2 years. Let’s all do our part to change this.

The only trip I am taking this year starts Jan. 5th with the “ Amazing Race “

I am putting 2021 behind me…Stay safe and healthy, so that when we meet again, no one will be missing. Robbie Burns said it best in “ Auld Lang Syne “ Hold on to the past, and Look forward to the future.

Ida Albo is a Canadian businesswoman and the owner and managing partner of the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Albo has served as co-president of the CentreVenture Development Corporation. She is on the board of directors of the University of Winnipeg Foundation, and was BA, Class of '81
